During a recent episode of The Great PodcastShaquille O’Neal went out of his way to make the most dishonest comment ever to fellow former Los Angeles Lakers member Dwight Howard, who currently plays in the Taiwan League.

“You should never be complimented for being a good fighter because that’s what you’re supposed to do. He’s supposed to have 30 points playing against a 5’8 dude. Good job,” O’Neal said. “This league reminds me of a Lifetime Fitness league every Saturday when I go to practice on Saturday. Great job Dwight, I’m proud of you.

After learning about OG Superman’s slander, Howard decided to cheer, suggesting that it’s rude to hate not only him but also his teammates.

“Stop hating basketball in Taiwan,” Howard said. “And I play the Lifetime Fitness League. Don’t disrespect my teammates and this league and these people in Taiwan like this. It’s very disrespectful and it’s hating and you’re too old to hate. You are too big to be hated. You’re supposed to be Superman, the original Superman, Shaquille O’Neal. Does the original Superman hate? The OG Superman hates?

Howard then took to Instagram to lay out his issues and questioned whether or not O’Neal could have done what he is doing at this point in his career.

“We don’t need people to hate other people because they’re not there. Shaq, when you were 37, your 19th year in the league, because that would have been my 19th year in the league, would you have come to Taiwan and played? Would you have come here and would you be fit? I am 265 years old [pounds], I don’t weigh 390 lbs. I am 265 years old [pounds] and I’m in the best shape of my life,” Howard said.

“Can you come here and give me 38 points and 25 rebounds? You can talk about points all you want, but you know Shaq that it takes effort to get rebounds, and I have a lot of rebounds in my life. It took effort to do that, a lot of effort, a lot of effort to block shots, a lot of effort to go play basketball for that long. You have no right to hate. I’m not mad, I just want you all to know. I’m not angry at all.

Will the two parties ever come to an agreement? Based on their past beef, that seems incredibly unlikely.
