LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – We are learning new information about a man charged with killing his wife in Lexington.

Stephon Henderson, 59, faces charges of murder, breach of an EPO and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say they received a call around 1.30am Wednesday afternoon from a man who told them he had just shot his wife at a house on Bay Colony Lane, near Sandersville Road in the Masterson neighborhood Station.

Henderson Police surrendered to officers without incident. When officers entered the home, police said they found a woman dead with gunshot wounds.

According to court documents, a motion for a protective order was filed Nov. 20 against Stephon Henderson. Court documents indicate that the plaintiff in this case is Talina Henderson.

A hearing on the motion was scheduled for November 30 in Fayette Circuit Court.

Court records also show that Henderson pleaded guilty in 1998 in Fayette County to aggravated assault and domestic violence. He was sentenced to 90 days in prison, including 83 days suspended. He also received two years of probation.

Henderson is due in Fayette District Court on Monday afternoon on these latest charges.
