The feds have actively colluded with Big Tech over the past year to censor covid conversations they believe contain false or inaccurate information, according to newly released emails.

Obtained through a lawsuit filed against top Biden administration officials by Missouri and Louisiana (AG) Attorneys General Eric Schmitt and Jeff Landry for “colluding with social media companies to censor free speech ‘, communication recordings show members of federal agencies, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), coordinating with social media platforms on how to handle ‘misinformation’ regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. 19.

In an email dated July 16, 2021, to U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, a senior Facebook representative explained how the company and Biden administration officials met “to better understand the scope of what the White House expects [Facebook] on disinformation in the future.

“In our previous conversations, I appreciated the way you and your team approached our commitment, and we worked hard to meet the moment – we have dedicated a huge amount of time and resources to fighting this pandemic and we we see ourselves as partners in fighting the same battle,” the Facebook official wrote.

The email to Murthy came a day after the Surgeon General issued a warning against the “threat of health misinformation,” in which Murthy called on “tech and social media companies” to “do more to combat the spread on their platforms”.

According to communication logs published by Schmitt, the same senior Facebook official then sent an email to an official at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in which Facebook thanked the HHS representative for “took the time to meet” and develop. on the company’s steps to suppress “misinformation” and “to further tackle the ‘dozen misinformation'”.

“[W]We’ve removed an additional 17 Instagram pages, groups, and accounts linked to the misinfo dozen (so a total of 39 IG profiles, groups, and accounts deleted so far, so every member of the misinfo dozen has had at least such deleted entity),” the email read. “We are also continuing to make 4 other pages and profiles, which have not yet reached their deletion thresholds, harder to find on our platform. We’ve also expanded the group of misrepresentations we remove to keep up with recent misinformation trends we’re seeing.

A separate document addressed to Surgeon General Murthy also shows additional steps Facebook has taken to censor Americans on the platform, including “increasing the strength” of “COVID downgrades and vaccine-related content that Facebook has taken to censor Americans on the platform. third-party fact checkers label it as ‘Partially False’ or ‘Missing Context’ so that any such information is ‘downgraded to the same strength as [Facebook] demote[s] any content” classified as “False”.

Facebook’s warm relationship with federal health agencies like the CDC didn’t end there, with the two entities often holding regular meetings to discuss the latter’s censorship efforts.

In an email chain dated July 28, 2021, a senior Facebook official asked the CDC if “in addition to [their] weekly meetings,” the CDC would be interested in “doing a monthly disinformation/debunking meeting, perhaps with claim topics communicated a few days before so that [the CDC] can bring in corresponding experts and chat casually for about 30 minutes.

“Yes, we would like to do that,” replied a CDC official.

The Biden administration’s assault on free speech, however, was not exclusive to covid-19. On July 20, 2021, the Digital Director of the White House Covid-19 Response Team, Clarke Humphrey, emailed Facebook asking if the group could remove a parody Instagram account of Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“Hello, how can we knock this down? It’s not really one of ours,” Humphrey said, to which a Facebook official replied, “Yeah, on it!

In addition to Facebook, Twitter has also made efforts to come to terms with the federal government regarding Covid. The

also show Twitter asking to hold regular meetings with government health officials to “discuss trends” regarding “problematic content”, such as fraudulent “covid cures” and “vaccination cards”.

Other examples of coordination between the federal government and big tech companies include the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency which contacted “Twitter, Google, Meta and Microsoft” last May “following the botched deployment of the Governance Council of the DHS disinformation”. Additionally, in February 2022, Biden’s Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Department had a request sent to Facebook to establish a connection and “discuss potential influence operations on social media.”

“The discovery provided so far demonstrates that this censorship enterprise is extremely broad, including officials from the White House, HHS, DHS, CISA, CDC, NIAID, and the Office of the Surgeon General; and obviously other agencies, such as the Census Bureau, FDA, FBI, State Department, Treasury Department, and United States Election Assistance Commission,” Schmitt and Landry said in a statement. joint statement. “And that goes up to the highest levels of the US government, including many White House officials.”

The release of the bombshell emails comes after Meta (Facebook) CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that the FBI interfered in the 2020 presidential election by pressuring his company to “censor Russian disinformation — and therefore the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop”.
