Stefanos Tsitsipas wants to show off his skills to a certain Oscar nominee.
Following his quarter-final win on Tuesday over Jiri Lehecka of the Czech Republic at the 2023 Australian Open, Tsitsipas’ post-match interview took a unique turn when he explained his fondness for the Aussie. Margot Robbie.
“I mean, Australia is such a great country. I like a lot of Australian things, you know, one of my favorite actresses is from Australia, Margot Robbie,” the 24-year-old Greek athlete said with a smile.
Commentator Jim Courier asked Tsitsipas if he was making some sort of offer to the 32-year-old ‘Babylon’ actress.
“It would be nice to see her there one day,” the tennis ace said, gesturing to the seats.
Tsitsipas then confirmed he was “absolutely” inviting Robbie to watch him play, which drew cheers from the crowd inside the Melbourne Park venue.
Robbie, who is set to star in this summer’s highly anticipated ‘Barbie’ movie, is quite the sports fanatic. She has attended New York Rangers games over the years and was spotted in the stands at Madison Square Garden in 2015 with her husband, Tom Ackerley.
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley are coming out in November 2022.
