ESPN College GameDay will come to Rocky Top for the game in Florida

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) – ESPN College GameDay returns to the University of Tennessee for the Southeastern Conference opener at Neyland Stadium for the first time since 2016.

The show, the longest-running pregame show in college football, will air on ESPN from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 24 as the Vols face off against the Gators. The broadcast location has yet to be announced.

This is the 10th time Tennessee will host College GameDay and the 22nd time the Vols have appeared on the show, according to athletics officials. The last two times the show was held at Rocky Top, Tennessee played Florida.

CheckerNeyland will also be back for Saturday’s big game, showcasing the recognizable checkerboard pattern throughout the stadium. Go to the game? You can check what color to wear based on your online section.

The September 24 match was sold out; therefore, officials encourage fans to arrive early and prepare their tickets. Gate 21 Will Call opens at 11.30am and gates to Neyland Stadium open at 1.30pm.

Tennessee is 3-0 for the first time since the 2016 season and is ranked No. 15 in the AP Top-25 poll.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Vol fans can watch the game on WVLT, along with in-depth coverage scheduled as part of the Big Orange Kick Off, with pre- and post-game highlights.
