Brooks Koepka highlighted the fact that caddies are “treated like human beings” when asked what his biggest takeaways have been since joining the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
Koepka, 32, spoke to the media after the second round of LIV Golf Chicago where Cameron Smith is closing in on his first victory in the controversial series.
The American is seated in T-28 of the 48 men field after two rounds at Rich Harvest Farms. While it’s been another disappointing tournament on a personal level so far for Koepka, the team he leads – Smash GC – is doing well.
Smash GC, comprised of his 28-year-old brother Chase, Peter Uihlein and Jason Kokrak, is just two shots behind Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces GC team that dominated LIV’s eight-event inaugural season.

Press conferences at LIV events, it’s fair to say, are quite interesting. There have been some incredible exchanges so far.
We already had Smith’s reaction to a Rory McIlroy meme. Then we had another question about how many tears McIlroy could put in the Claret Jug after winning the Open.
Phil Mickelson also had strong words about the PGA Tour this week, saying the days of the established American Tour having the best players in the world are over.
“I think both are necessary for the game of golf. Both are good for the game of golf. The inclusion of LIV Golf in the ecosystem of the world of golf is necessary,” he said.
“As soon as that happens and we all start working together, it will be a really positive thing for everyone.”

Here is the full exchange where Koepka talks about LIV Golf caddies…
Q Brooks, what is your greatest satisfaction since joining LIV Golf, and how would you compare the atmosphere with the fans and all the amenities the fans have here compared to the PGA TOUR? What would you say to people who say LIV is dividing the game?
BROOKS KOEPKA: It’s quite energetic. I mean, it’s golf but stronger, right?
Q For sure.
BROOKS KOEPKA: Yeah, the fans have been great. Everyone who came out was awesome. It was nice for us. I think the players, the caddies, how well the caddies are treated as well. I think that’s a big difference. They are treated like human beings. I think everyone, through coaches, staff, everyone, it’s a big difference.
