Krunic edges out Messias for Napoli game

Rade Krunic could play from the first minute tonight as AC Milan take on Napoli without Rafael Leao. It was the latest indication that came as Stefano Pioli pondered various solutions.

Tonight’s clash is important and it’s a shame the Rossoneri are without Leao. The Portuguese winger has been in fine form lately and it will be difficult to replace him, but Pioli weighed up different solutions throughout the week.

According to MilanNews, it looks like Krunic is now in pole position to replace Leao. It was initially announced that Saelemaekers would take on the role, with Junior Messias starting on the right, but it looks like the Belgian will retain his spot on the right.

Starting Krunic may make Milan look more balanced, while he can switch positions with Charles De Ketelaere more easily. It could also give Theo Hernandez the chance to overlap more than usual.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Krunic; Giroud.
