Do you believe in ghosts? Because it looks like Ana De Armas.
The actor plays Marilyn Monroe in director Andrew Dominik’s upcoming biopic Marilyn, Blondand during the press conference for the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival (via Reuters), she claimed that Marilyn herself was present during filming — in a spectral sense, that is.
“I really believe that she was very close to us,” she said during the interview before clarifying: “She was with us.”
Ana claimed that Marilyn – sorry, the ghost of Marilyn – was present during filming and would make her presence felt if she didn’t like what was being filmed.
“I think she was happy,” Ana explained. “She would also sometimes throw things off the wall and get mad if she didn’t like something.”
“It may sound very mystical, but it’s true,” she added. “We all felt it.” Uh, okay!
For what it’s worth, Andrew backed up his claims, sort of. “It definitely took elements like a session,” he said.
If Ana “sees” Marilyn’s ghost again, maybe she can also ask her about all the controversy surrounding the film. People want to know!
Blond hits Netflix on September 28, so we’ll get to see why Marilyn’s ghost was so happy – and angry – very soon. Here is the trailer:
