Lady Gaga was forced to cancel a weekend concert in Florida midway through due to stormy weather, but it’s not a decision she took lightly.
The 13-time Grammy winner shared an emotional video on Instagram early Sunday apologizing to fans for
of the last leg of his Chromatica Ball tour. She held back tears as she spoke of the severe storm that suddenly and unexpectedly interrupted her Saturday show at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

“We really tried to finish the show tonight in Miami, but we couldn’t because even when the rain kind of stopped, there were lightning bolts hitting the ground so close to us,” said she explained. “For a very long time I always wanted to be this hardcore bitch, but what I really want is also to be responsible and loving. I don’t know what I would do if something happened to someone in the audience or to a member of my team, my band, my dancers.
Gaga, who wore one of her stage costumes in the video, also opened up about the health issues she overcame before hitting the road again. In 2018, she cut her Joanne World Tour short of 10 performances, citing chronic pain from fibromyalgia.
Later in the clip, she held up a bouquet of red roses given to her by a fan and vowed to “cherish them forever.”
“I love you and, yes, I’d rather be dry, but we’re all alive,” she said. “So go home and be safe and I’ll see you next time I’m on stage.”
In a second Instagram post, Gaga expressed her regret at not being able to perform her 2020 smash, “Rain on Me,” in the rain, but thanked her audience for their understanding nonetheless.
“In my heart, I knew it was better to protect you,” she said.
Gaga’s Chromatica Ball tour kicked off in Düsseldorf, Germany in July. Although the tour was beset by several COVID-19 delays, it garnered critical praise and reportedly broke attendance records in Boston and New York, among other stops.
