Alec Baldwin has just been named in another lawsuit where “physical and psychological injuries” have been cited.
The lawsuit in question relates to the fatal 2021 shooting that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured the director.
The paperwork also accuses the producers and Baldwin of negligence and emotional distress, which were caused as a result of the incident.
The file was delivered to Santa Fe, NM, by Ross Addiego.
He names Baldwin, his company El Dorado Pictures, and even Rust Movie Productions LLC as defendants.
“These injuries were caused by defendants’ failure to follow industry safety rules,” read an excerpt from the filing.
By People, “The defendants cut corners; ignored reports of multiple unscripted firearm discharges; and persisted, rushed and understaffed, to complete the film.
He also cited the need for proper security procedures, as “producing the weapon-intensive western film required an experienced firearms expert and security-minded leadership.”
But “Rust had neither. Instead, the producers hired an inexperienced gunsmith and appointed executives with a history of security breaches.”
The complaint also offered some insight into the situation on set at the time and explained that “plaintiff Curtin put her hands on Hutchins’ stomach, trying to find the source of Hutchins’ pain and figure out what was going on. ”.
They were “led out of the church. Once outside, she collapsed from the effects of the explosion and the shock of the gunfight.
Since the incident, the plaintiffs alleged that they had “independently sought help to deal with their injuries, including but not limited to insomnia, anxiety, depression and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder”.
