It didn’t take long for Michigan to assert their dominance over Maryland on Sunday, with the Terrapins trailing 19-1 in the opening minutes and then 44-13 at halftime. As Maryland’s offense awoke in the second half, the damage was done: an 81-46 win over Michigan.

For Michigan, the result was a tremendous rebound from Thursday’s stunning loss to a team now 5-8 from Central Michigan. The Wolverines were paced by the All-America big man Hunter Dickinsonwho wasted 32 points and 12 rebounds on his national school, while Terrance Williams added 11 points.

For Maryland, the loss was another demonstration of how far the Terrapins have come since rising to 13th in the polls after an 8-0 start. The last time Maryland faced a top 50 KenPom team, the Terrapins were forced off the field by UCLA; trailing Michigan by 31 points at halftime was not exactly the answer Maryland expected. No Maryland player finished the game with 10 or more points.
