Twitter was struggling this morning, with users reporting that the site’s timelines were inaccessible. After hours of intermittent service, they appear to have been repaired.

The issues were limited in scope: the site itself was still accessible and users could tweet, but the “Next” and “For You” timelines were not loading. There was a spike in reports for the site on DownDetector starting around 5 a.m. ET, with users in the US, UK and elsewhere reporting outages. But, around 7:45 a.m. ET, it appears those issues have largely been resolved. Streams load again and normally misery service is resumed.

Here’s what Twitter looked like this morning. What happened? Well, we don’t know.

Welcome to Twitter! I hope you don’t like anything!

There has been no word on the cause of the outage so far Twitter support, but the site has been increasingly glitched since Elon Musk’s takeover and widespread layoffs. The company itself appears to be slowly falling apart, with reports of internal tools like Slack and Jira shutting down without warning, leaving employees to take unscheduled days off.

Update, March 1, 7:04 a.m. ET: Updated story to note that the “For You” timeline is accessible but the “Next” timeline is not.

Update, March 1, 7:45 a.m. ET: History updated to note restored functionality.
